Essentials
If you are already an experienced golfer or a beginner, who wishes for more consistency with less strokes per round of golf, then you must either develop a clear understanding of the essentials of the golf swing or get your understanding checked every now and then by a professional.
There are no secrets! Here are the tried and true points from top players how they develop a solid and reproducible swing:
Grip: A neutral grip controls that the club head keeps the right angle throughout the entire swing.
Posture: Athletic posture=good body angle=balance=good swing height
Stance and ball position: Identify the right distance from your stance and ball position depending on the choice of club.
Alignment: When you ignore this very important element, then your ball will never find the goal.
Mental Power in Golf
Train the “3 P’s” on the driving range:
Practice: Make a training plan and concentrate on quality, not quantity.
Perseverance: Sometimes you have to take a step backwards to then later make two steps forward. Don’t give up!
Patience: Be patient and nice to yourself, only then will you reach your goals.
Train the “4 C’s” on the golf course:
Control: Control your emotions, so that you are able to control the golf ball. Only react to and remember a good golf swing.
Concentration: 85% of the game of golf is not about golf! Learn to turn on and off your concentration.
Confidence: Positive attitude: neutral thoughts=inner peace=good performance.
Competition: Develop your belief in competition when you are under stress and pressure. Make your training pressure more than your competition stress.
“What you think and what you do are two completely different things!”
